Classic English shoes will always be staples in a gentleman's wardrobe, regardless of the prevailing wind in fashion.  Nothing is more elegant and understated as a pair of brogue or monkstrap with a equally well-tailored suit, and they are something as essential as a white shirt or flannel pants.  On display at Rivolta's showroom is a gallery of classic shoes that I keep referring from time to time.  I always start new designs for my shoes from these classics.
